The film, starring Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson tells the story of a nerdy guy and a popular girl and, who met as freshmen in college. Previously, they had known each other for more than four years in high school, met in prom night four and one funeral, but then eventually became friends and fell in love. If you follow the storyline of the movie, you'll understand how a love that happens, that love is not about finding the perfect person, but someone who is not perfect tune.
Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson are set to star as two pals-- a popular girl and a geeky boy-- who fall in love over the course of high school. The plot apparently includes "four proms and a funeral," so we can all be grateful they didn't just call it that in a deliberate attempt to evoke Four Weddings and a Funeral and doom themselves in the process. Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Resnik Creasey wrote the script together, though after so many years in development there's no telling how much it might resemble what they originally came up with.
Roberts and Hutcherson have both been building their indie cred this year, though he more successfully than she; Hutcherson was part of the fantasticThe Kids Are All Right ensemble, while Roberts was in the Sundance misfireTwelve as well as the disappointing It's Kind of a Funny Story and What's Wrong With Virginia?, both of which bowed at Toronto. I'm a bigger fan of Hutcherson's work so far than Roberts-- I was really, really rooting for him to be Spider-Man-- but I like the idea of the two of them together. As for NPH's potential directing abilities, there's really no telling, but given that he's succeeded at everything else he's tried to do so far, who's to doubt he'd be perfect at this?
